Hi, my name is Dawn. I volunteer as a cashier at the Thrifty Boutique and enjoy volunteering for Hospice fundraising events like the annual Gala and the Hoedown for Hospice. I have been volunteering for the Hospice Society since 2018. Before that, I volunteered for 10 years for the Hospital Auxiliary in Langley and the Sunshine Coast. After 10 years I felt it was time to volunteer for another really good cause and what better than the Chilliwack Hospice Society. It gives me great pleasure to help others. The people and managers at the Thrifty Boutique are great.
I’m also a mother of 3, one daughter and two sons who have made me very proud. I’m also an Oma, and the grandkids are involved in soccer, basketball, dancing, and ice skating.
I worked in the deli at IGA for 18 years, I also worked at Buckerfields, a vet clinic, and sold cosmetics at the Duty-Free shop. I feel I’ve done it all. In my spare time, I enjoy walking the dogs along the Vedder River, gardening, sewing, canning, and baking.
I really enjoy volunteering for the Chilliwack Hospice Society and giving back to my community.
