Celebration of Love
Monday, February 10, 2025 | 10:30am–12:30pm | Chilliwack Hospice Society
(7112 Vedder Road)

Valentine’s Day can be a challenging time for those whose lives have been touched by grief or serious illness. Join us for “Celebration of Love,” a special gathering designed to provide connection and support for those whose Valentine’s Day may look a little different this year.
Co-facilitated by Jennifer Dacre, Candice Quesnel, and Deanna Fedorkew, with volunteers Colleen Johnson and Marilyn Vik, this meaningful event is open to individuals who are grieving the death of a loved one or supporting someone with a life-limiting illness. Together, we will share in:
  • A Sharing Circle to honour our feelings and experiences.
  • Rituals and remembrances to celebrate love and memories.
  • Valentine making as a creative expression of connection and care.
Tea, coffee, and light refreshments will be provided in a warm and welcoming space. Come as you are and take this time to reflect, connect, and honour the love that endures.
Pre-registration is required. For more information or to register for this event, please contact Deanna Fedorkew, Community Outreach & Education Manager, at (604) 795-4660 or email deanna@chilliwackhospice.org.

Annual Memorial Celebration
Monday, November 18, 2024 | 6:00–8:00pm | Vineyard Community Centre
(45892 Wellington Ave.)

Chilliwack Hospice Society is hosting its Annual Memorial Celebration on November 18, starting at 6:00pm, at Vineyard Community Centre, located at 45892 Wellington Avenue.

A time of reflection and support in the company of others whose loved one has died, the Annual Memorial Celebration is for everyone who is grieving — whether the death occurred recently or several years ago.

The Annual Memorial Celebration will include a discussion on disenfranchised grief, that is any grief that often goes unacknowledged or unvalidated by social norms. Examples may include, but are not limited to, unrecognized relationships, loss surrounded by stigma, and loss that is considered ‘less significant’.

The event will feature a heartfelt musical performance by talented vocalist, Tillie Waal. Tillie is a singer/songwriter from Washington State and has resided in Harrison Hot Springs for the past several years. She enjoys singing standards, gospel and R&B music.

Guests are asked to please bring a framed photo of their loved one with them. Light refreshments will be served.

Organizers ask that guests please RSVP by calling (604) 795-4660.
