Join Chilliwack Hospice Society for four, free 45-minute sessions of gentle chair yoga with Emmy Kerr this Fall. We know that daily movement can be beneficial to all bodies, especially through the grieving process. If you are grieving the death of a loved one, have received a palliative diagnosis, or are the caregiver of a dying person, consider participating in this supportive group.
Emmy has been practicing yoga for several years. In January 2020, she received her Yoga Teacher Training (YTT200) certificate from Haven School of Yoga. The training received is Anusara-based which focuses on physical alignment of the poses and linking breath to movement.
Emmy says, “This line of training, combined with my background as a Registered Nurse, has allowed move to structure my yoga classes with a deep understanding of human anatomy and how to adapt the practice to suit each individual.” Her passion lies in doing her best to make yoga accessible to everyone, not limited to their physical abilities. Teaching chair yoga has reaffirmed her belief that small yet consistent daily movement is the key to maintaining the momentum of the physical body.

Artistic Expressions of Grief
Tuesday, January 14, 2025 | 6:00–8:00pm | Chilliwack Hospice Society (7112 Vedder Road)
Join Chilliwack Hospice Society for Artistic Expressions of Grief: Pour Painting, a free educational workshop designed to support grieving adults through expressive art. This workshop will be held on Tuesday, January 14, from 6:00–8:00 pm.

Through the therapeutic process of pour painting, we’ll explore the complex emotions often held within. Each participant will choose colours to represent their feelings, filling their cups with a unique combination of emotions. As the paint is poured and spreads across the canvas, it creates a visual story—a beautiful and one-of-a-kind reflection of the grief journey. This shared creative experience can help release and honour the swirling, sometimes messy emotions that come with loss.

Led by Executive Director Sue Knott, this workshop is a safe space for connection and creativity.

Pre-registration is required. For more information or to join our upcoming pour painting workshop, please contact Deanna Fedorkew, Community Outreach and Education Manager, at (604) 795-4660 or email deanna@chilliwackhospice.org
