Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day Memorial
Thursday, August 21, 2025 | 2–4:00pm | Chilliwack Hospice Society
(7112 Vedder Road)

In recognition of Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day, Chilliwack Hospice Society invites you to a special memorial gathering for those grieving the death of a beloved pet or caring for an animal near the end of life. Facilitated by Deanna Fedorkew, with Jennifer Dacre, MACP, and Kaylee Lovesy, BSW, this gentle event offers a space of comfort and connection with others who understand the deep bonds we share with our animal companions.
Participants are encouraged to bring a photo of their pet(s) and to share memories and stories in the supportive company of fellow grievers. Our grief support professionals will speak to the impact animals have on our lives and the importance of acknowledging and validating pet loss. An optional expressive arts activity will be offered to honour your pet’s memory. Families are welcome; children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.
Space is limited. Please pre-register for our Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day Memorial by contacting Deanna Fedorkew, Community Education Manager, at (604) 795-4660 or email deanna@chilliwackhospice.org.

Annual Memorial Celebration
Monday, November 18, 2024 | 6:00–8:00pm | Vineyard Community Centre
(45892 Wellington Ave.)

Chilliwack Hospice Society is hosting its Annual Memorial Celebration on November 18, starting at 6:00pm, at Vineyard Community Centre, located at 45892 Wellington Avenue.

A time of reflection and support in the company of others whose loved one has died, the Annual Memorial Celebration is for everyone who is grieving — whether the death occurred recently or several years ago.

The Annual Memorial Celebration will include a discussion on disenfranchised grief, that is any grief that often goes unacknowledged or unvalidated by social norms. Examples may include, but are not limited to, unrecognized relationships, loss surrounded by stigma, and loss that is considered ‘less significant’.

The event will feature a heartfelt musical performance by talented vocalist, Tillie Waal. Tillie is a singer/songwriter from Washington State and has resided in Harrison Hot Springs for the past several years. She enjoys singing standards, gospel and R&B music.

Guests are asked to please bring a framed photo of their loved one with them. Light refreshments will be served.

Organizers ask that guests please RSVP by calling (604) 795-4660.
