Tickets are now on sale for the 12th Annual Hometown Hoedown for Hospice, presented by Century Plumbing and Heating, taking place on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Evergreen Hall.
This signature fundraising event for Chilliwack Hospice Society promises an unforgettable evening of country-themed fun, all in support of free grief support and palliative care support programs for children, youth, and adults in Chilliwack and the surrounding communities.

The runway at the 6th annual Fashionista Fashion Show will be “classy and a little bit sassy,” event organizers at the Thrifty Boutique say, when 50+ original thrifted outfits are shown by volunteer models in support of Chilliwack Hospice Society.

The fundraising event has become a highlight of the Spring season for many in the local thrifting community. Each outfit is curated by Thrifty Boutique staff from donations received at the store. Following the show, featured items including clothing, shoes, and jewelry are available for sale.

Models vary in age from seven to 70, and include Thrifty Boutique volunteers, their grandchildren, Chilliwack Hospice Society directors, and members of the community.

“Some of our volunteers enter the show with trepidation but by the end of the night all are smiling and full of laughter,” Thrifty Boutique manager Sandy Parker remarks. “It is truly rewarding to see everyone on stage having as much fun as our audience.”

Starting at 6:00pm, attendees can enjoy delicious hors d’oeuvres and a complimentary glass of champagne while browsing a delightful pop-up shop, bid on items in a silent auction and penny social, and enter to win door prizes.

Thrifty Boutique hosts the annual Fashionista Fashion Show in support of Chilliwack Hospice Society, Friday, May 10 at Evergreen Hall. Tickets are $30 and available in-store at the Thrifty Boutique located at #101-7955 Evans Road.

The 18th Annual Chilliwack Hospice Society Gala: DISCO, presented by Silver Creek Travel Centre, will be held Saturday night, September 23, at a new venue, The’í:tselíya — S.A.Y. Community Centre, and organizers say, “get ready to boogie.” This disco-infused, high-profile fundraising dinner, auction, and dance event will raise funds to support the bereavement and palliative care support programs and services Chilliwack Hospice Society provides free of cost to children, youth, and adults in Chilliwack and the surrounding communities.

Restaurant 62 will be catering a gourmet, plated dinner including red wine braised short rib with a rosemary djion braisage, local heirloom tomato and bocconcini salad, and roasted fall vegetables, followed by an apple verrine for dessert.

Keeping in theme, dancing will return to the annual gala with disc jockey Adam Kruger who will be spinning everyone’s favourite disco hits. Adam has performed at over 3,000 live events across the US and Canada.

Always a popular component of the event, the silent auction will be held online with bidding beginning on Sunday, September 17 at 3:00pm. This year’s auction is valued at over $15,000 and features some fabulous items including travel and accommodations, event tickets, family-friendly adventures, shopping parties, and many generous professional service packages. The silent auction will close at 10:30pm on the night of the gala.

Meanwhile, the live auction will be held exclusively for those in attendance at the gala and will be overseen by emcee and auctioneer Jason Lum, city councillor for the City of Chilliwack and chair of the Fraser Valley Regional District. Amid the unique items available for auction, the Chilliwack Hospice Society is assembling a ‘wine wall’ in a beautiful, refurbished cabinet. Organizers are currently accepting donations of store-bought wine with the goal of filling the cabinet with 100 bottles. Community members are encouraged to drop-off a bottle of their favourite wine at Chilliwack Hospice Society, 7112 Vedder Road, or the Garrison Wine & Liquor Store by September 20 to be included in this live auction highlight.

Support Chilliwack Hospice Society and win! Gala 50/50 tickets are available now, starting at $10 each. Chances to win are 1 in 17,000 if all tickets are sold. Anyone 19 years of age or older in British Columbia is eligible to participate, whether they’re planning to attend the gala or not. Gala 50/50 tickets are on sale exclusively online. The winner will be drawn electronically at 9:00pm on the night of the gala.
