Purple Ribbon Campaign
Grief is both a necessity and a privilege; it comes as a result of giving and receiving love. (Wolfelt nd)
Chilliwack Hospice Society's Purple Ribbon is worn by those that are grieving, it is a reminder to our community that the person may be distracted, sad, and needing an extra bit of compassion.
When you see someone wearing a Purple Ribbon take a moment to reflect on those you too have lost and try to be aware of your kindness to those that are grieving.
Please do not go up to the person and ask about their loss. Just make a simple gesture: let them in front of you in the line up at the grocery store, or hold a door open for them, if you see them needing help, step up and share your kindness. It is the small things
Together we can support each other, none of us are alone, Chilliwack is a community that cares and we have opportunity today to embrace kindness and be gentle with those around us that need it most.
